June 2010:  Trip with the Grandkids

This was a 12,000 trip with Nick and Byron.  We started in Palm Harbor, Florida and make our way through the southern United States.  From west Texas we took a turn north to Seattle, Washington where we picked up Linda, Corrine and Haley.   Together we headed east to Yellowstone Park, then souuth to Denver Colorado.  Because of time constrains, they were dropped off in Denver and I brought the car home via Rt. 66 from Kingman, Az to Chicago, IL, after picking up Nick again in Pittsburgh, Pa.

These are memorize that will last a lifetime, thanks for sharing this time with me......................Papou

Panama City Beach
Panama City Beach

Our first stop was Panama Beach. Everyone wanted to see the effect of the Bp oil spill. While there we saw that the beach in this area was pretty much cleaned up, although there were still small globs of oil that would stain your feet if you didn't watch where you were stepping.

Leaving Panama City Beach we headed west to find more oil damage. Stoping at Perdido Key, we picked up a sample of oil that washed up on shore. We made a quick stop at historic Ft. Perkins, the place where Indian Chief Geronimo served some time when it was a prison.
