7th GRADE EXTRA CREDIT OPPORTUNITIES

It is the students responsibly to use their time wisely when they enter the classroom.  They are requires to do "BELL WORK", which consists of QUICK WRITES, updating DATA CHARTS and updating LEARNING SCALES.  During an unannounced check, any student who has thier DATA CHART and/or LEARNING SCALE up-to-date will receive 25 points EXTRA CREDIT. 

a) Come up with your own idea and present it to Dr. Fatolitis for approval. Make sure it is related to our unit of study.

b) Make a video (at least 2 minutes) demonstrating a 7th grade science concept as it relates to our topic.

c) Keeping up with your DATA CHART will give you 25 points extra credit at the end of the nine week grading period.

d)  Keeping up with your learning scales will give you 25 points at the end of each UNIT.

e) Participate in a community project outside of school (beach clean-up, raise money, etc.).  Must provide proof (picture, letter , certificate, etc.)

a) Build a working model on how polluted water reaches the Florida aquifer.

b) Build a model on how the flow of water contributes to water pollution.

c) Make a poster to illustrate how a waste water treatment plant works.

d) Make a poster to make your classmates aware of their contribution to pollution.

e) Write a one and a half page report on the current situation of deforestation.

            *  Avoid plagiarism (it will be checked). 

            *  Site your sources.

            *  Have the article accompany your report.

f) Come up with your own idea and present it to Dr. Fatolitis for approval. Make sure it is related to our unit of study.

a)  Build a working terrarium to demonstrate your understanding of an ecosystem.

a) Build a working model on how heat flows from an object with high kinetic energy to one with lower energy.

b) Build a model illustrating the movement of atoms in a solid, liquid and gas.

c) Make a poster to illustrate the movement of atoms in a solid, liquid and gas.

d) Make a poster to make your classmates aware of their contribution to pollution.

e) Write a one and a half page report on an occupation that needs to understand the laws of thermal energy and Kinetic theory. 

            *  Avoid plagiarism (it will be checked). 

            *  Site your sources.

            *  Have the article accompany your report.

f) Come up with your own idea and present it to Dr. Fatolitis for approval. Make sure it is related to our unit of study.

g) Participate in a classroom cleanup afternoon (afterschool)
